Donald Trump defends Kristi Noem, claiming his critics are targeting her only ‘because she is a woman’

Evidently, it isn’t about her actions and statements.

President Trump is defending his Department of Homeland Security Secretary, Kristi Noem, suggesting the intense calls for her resignation are motivated by her gender. The Hill reported that the president posted on Truth Social to back his appointee, making it crystal clear that he believes the attacks on Secretary Noem are unfair.

Trump specifically argued that the “Radical Left Lunatics, Insurrectionists, Agitators, and Thugs,” are only targeting her “because she is a woman, and has done a really GREAT JOB!”  President Trump didn’t stop there, crediting Noem with correcting major issues he inherited upon taking office.

The president stated that the “Border disaster that I inherited is fixed,” which is a huge claim when you consider the scale of the issues. Furthermore, he assured the public that the violent criminals who were allegedly allowed entry due to “Sleepy Joe’s ‘sick’ Open Border Policy,” are now either “largely gone, or being strongly sought for purposes of removal.”

This is such a random deflection

Even with the president’s staunch support, Secretary Noem is currently facing significant pressure from both Democrats and Republicans. Lawmakers and public officials from both political parties have publicly demanded her resignation. Some opponents have introduced impeachment proceedings against her. In response, Noem made some misguided efforts to show strength

The heat she’s taking relates directly to her management of disaster funding under the Federal Emergency Management Agency, or FEMA, which falls under her authority. However, the most immediate and intense criticism stems from her response to recent deadly confrontations between federal immigration officers and civilians in Minnesota.

After DHS agents fatally shot Alex Pretti in Minneapolis last Saturday, Secretary Noem compared him to a “domestic terrorist.” She also insisted that Pretti was “brandishing” a gun during the incident. She made similar, strong statements earlier this month regarding Renee Good, who was shot and killed by an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officer. Both statements were disproved by video evidence.

President Trump urged Republicans to stand firm. He asserted that Democrats were using the “aggressive protest SCAM” as a distraction to “obfuscate, camouflage, and hide their CRIMINAL ACTS of theft and insurrection.” The president wrapped up his defense by reiterating his core mandate, stating, “I was elected on Strong Borders, and Law and Order, among many other things.” He reminded everyone that “ELECTIONS HAVE CONSEQUENCES!!!”
