‘You bring a gun into DC, mark my words you’re going to jail’: Trump’s DC attorney says Second Amendment over, guns to be seized

Fighting to preserve Second Amendment rights is one of the bedrocks of the Republican Party. For decades, the GOP has fought for Americans’ right to bear arms, standing firm even in the face of outcry over multiple mass shootings.

But, under Trump, it seems there’s been a sudden U-turn, as for some mysterious reason the increasingly authoritarian MAGA state suddenly has cold feet about Americans bearing arms. Huh, wonder why?

Now Jeanine Pirro, appointed by Donald Trump as interim United States attorney for the District of Columbia, has said that Second Amendment rights no longer apply in DC. Speaking on Fox News, she laid it out without a shred of ambiguity:

"You bring a gun into DC, mark my words you're going to jail. I don't care if you have a license in another district and I don't care if you are a law-abiding gun owners somewhere else. "

“You bring a gun into the District, you mark my words, you’re going to jail. I don’t care if you have a license in another district and I don’t care if you’re a law-abiding gun-owner somewhere else. You bring a gun into this district, count on going to jail, and hope you get the gun back.”

Needless to say, for gun rights advocates, this must feel like getting stabbed (or I guess shot) in the back. For literal decades, they’ve reliably beaten the drum that mean ol’ Democrats are about to break down your door and seize your guns. Worse, the likes of Barack Obama, Hilary Clinton, and Joe Biden are surely hellbent on a mission to ensure that no civilian can bear arms!

Now all their worst nightmares are coming true, but in a deeply ironic twist, it’s coming at the hands of the party they supported and via Donald Trump, a man gun owners overwhelmingly voted to put in the White House.

Over the last year, the Trump regime has proven time and time again that to them, Constitutional rights are really more like guidelines, and they can pick and choose when they apply to you. So who can really be surprised when they violate the Second Amendment along with all the other ones?

Will gun owners start voting Democrat now? I doubt it. Charlton Heston once said, “You can have my guns when you pry them from my cold, dead hands”, but MAGA acolytes nowadays are more like, “Here you go Mr Feds, ooh can I please polish your boots with my tongue?”
