Jeffrey Epstein dropped a haughty ‘what minor’ when confronted with crime of soliciting prostitution from underage victim

A newly released clip from a 2010 deposition shows just how utterly dismissive Jeffrey Epstein was regarding his victims, years before his eventual final arrest. The video, which is part of the latest batch of Epstein Files released by the Department of Justice, features the convicted financier asking a truly chilling question when confronted about his crime: “What minor?”

The deposition took place in 2010, shortly after Epstein had already secured a controversial plea deal in 2009 for soliciting a minor for prostitution. Under that deal, he pleaded guilty to soliciting prostitution from someone under the age of 18, along with a separate count of soliciting prostitution. Despite the severity of the charges, he only served 18 months in a Florida jail.

This was a ridiculously light sentence for the crimes involved, and this new footage certainly doesn’t help his case for remorse. As found by TMZ, during the 2010 questioning, the lawyer deposing Epstein pressed him repeatedly about whether the women he interacted with were already prostitutes before he met them.

Epstein dodged the specific questions every single time, responding only that he had pleaded guilty to solicitation of prostitution. What’s worse, the financier then went on to make a flat-out false claim, stating that he never actually pleaded guilty to soliciting sex from an underage prostitute. It’s absolutely unbelievable that he tried to rewrite history right there in the room, seemingly attempting to minimize the most serious part of his conviction.

The attorney was clearly taken aback by this blatant denial of the facts. The lawyer had to quickly point out that, in fact, Epstein did plead guilty to procuring a minor for the purposes of prostitution, which is a significant felony charge. After the lawyer corrected him, Epstein acknowledged that this was the truth of the charge against him. This is why we need people like the Clintons to testify to what they know.

The attorney then asked a crucial follow-up question, trying to gauge any sign of accountability or human decency: was Epstein remorseful for his interaction with that minor victim? That’s when the now-infamous response came, revealing the depth of his detachment: “What minor?”

You can just imagine the atmosphere in the room when he said that. The total disregard for the person he harmed is stunning. The implication here is that he couldn’t even recall the identity or name of the specific underage victim for whom he was convicted of soliciting. He admitted he didn’t know the victim’s name, yet he still agreed to the guilty plea in 2009, cementing the conviction.

The attorney even asked him why he would plead guilty if he truly didn’t know who the victim was, and the video itself is reportedly quite dramatic as the lawyer confronted him.
