Woman realizes she married the wrong man after he refuses to visit her while she’s in hospital because it’s ‘Inconvenient’

Divorce is a must.

Agreeing to the “in sickness and in health” part of the marriage vows is easy enough when you’re both healthy, but not enough people really consider the meaning behind those words when they say “I do.” One unfortunate woman on TikTok found out that her husband was going back on his vows after not showing up to be with her while she was in hospital.

Caitlin is now reconsidering her entire relationship after her husband’s shocking lack of concern for her while in hospital. She warned others on TikTok, “If you’re considering getting married anytime soon please make sure that you go through a period of sickness and illness with that person.” Her warning was recorded from her hospital bed, where her husband is noticeably absent.

Know your partner

She states it’s important to know how your partner is going to act when you’re sick, “are they gonna take care of you? Are they gonna support you? Are they gonna be mean to you?” All very valid questions that need answering preferably before you tie the knot.

Unfortunately for Caitlin, she was four years into her marriage when she fell ill. She reveals that she was septic and had to have emergency surgery to save her life. Despite all this her husband is nowhere to be found. He made no effort to visit her in the hospital and when she did get the chance to speak with him all he had to say was “at least you didn’t die.”

It’s a heartbreaking realization and Caitlin admits that the whole ordeal has left her feeling angry at her husband who hasn’t even bothered to text her or bring her children to see her. She also claims that her husband is “out galavanting with another woman.”

TikTok wants to know if she’s getting a divorce

Commenters expressed support for Caitlin and strongly suggested she divorce her husband as soon as she was discharged from hospital. Making a judgement from this video alone I’d have to agree. Others shared their own stories which sadly mirror Caitlin’s own experience, “I had to get my IUD surgically removed.” Wrote one person, adding, “My husband dropped me off at the front door of the hospital and told me to call him when I was done.”

Unfortunately uncaring husbands is pretty common, especially when it comes to illness, “Oncology offices warm women when they’re diagnosed, that a man that they are in relationship with or married to, will likely leave them.” one person claimed.

Caitlin was already navigating a tough situation and almost dying and still having no support from her partner has only made things worse. She has since set up a GoFundMe to help “protect her children and secure legal support.”
