Apple Martin, the daughter of Hollywood star Gwyneth Paltrow and Coldplay singer Chris Martin, has taken to social media to address rumors circulating about her that claim she was expelled from her school for bullying.
Martin, who takes after her parents in many ways, responded to a comment online, writing, “Hi! I didn’t wanna respond but this narrative is completely false and has gotten so out of hand,” she also shared a screenshot of the comment to her Instagram story adding “just a quick little message from myself.” In her comment she went on to deny the rumors about her.
“I completely understand ppl not liking me and that is okay! The internet is a place where ppl can share their opinions. But this rumor is completely untrue, I am not that type of person and anyone who is close to me knows that.”
Where the original comment was shared or what exactly it was in response to is not clear. Regardless, it seems she was addressing certain whispers about herself which have persisted for a long time now. While it didn’t seem to bother the young celebrity too much at the time, (she even made light of it in a humorous video at one point), it seems the 21-year-old now wants to put the negative rumors about her to bed.
What was Apple Martin accused of?
Martin had previously faced accusations of bullying according to new outlet Page Six. The rumors came after footage emerged which seemingly showed her attempting to crash a fellow debutant’s photoshoot during a fashion event known as Le Bal des Debutantes in Paris 2024. The rumors of Martin’s expulsion from school for bullying soon began cropping up afterwards.
Another clip seemed to show the young model rolling her eyes as she entered an invite-only gala.
However, it seems there is little credence to be given to the rumors as even Aliénor Loppin de Montmort, the girl in the initial video whose photoshoot Martin supposedly tried to crash, came out in defense of her. Montmort told People, “[Apple’s] genuinely the nicest girl ever! She really doesn’t deserve an ounce of what she’s getting.” She went on to add, “She was the nicest girl ever towards not only me but all the debs!”
Also responding to the video, a source close to Martin’s mother corroborated the debutant’s story, stating, “Apple’s more playful and fun and she’s really a total girls’ girl.” Addressing the accusations stemming from the viral clip they stated, “She really had such a wonderful evening and I feel bad that this is even taking away from that because it was such an uplifting evening for her and the other girls.”
