In a stunning twist, 2 women come claim they are 100% certain about Nancy Guthrie’s abductor

Hopefully, it is an important breakthrough.

In a potentially massive breakthrough in the Nancy Guthrie disappearance case, two women approached officials on Friday, claiming they are 100% certain they know who abducted the missing Arizona woman. Investigative reporter Jonathan Lee Riches shared this breaking news on his X account, @JLRINVESTIGATES, posting directly from Nancy Guthrie’s home.

According to Newsweek, Riches reported that the two women arrived at the house, visibly upset and crying, and stated their absolute certainty about the perpetrator. Riches added that they were on their way to the Pima County Sheriff’s Department to share their information.

When asked about these potential witnesses, the Pima County Sheriff’s Office (PCSD) didn’t confirm any specific details. They reiterated that this is still a very active investigation and will continue until Nancy Guthrie is found or all possible leads are completely exhausted. The PCSD mentioned they are refocusing resources, assigning detectives specifically to this case, and will maintain a patrol presence in the Guthrie neighborhood.

I just hope that this is a credible lead

Nancy Guthrie, the 84-year-old mother of NBC’s TODAY Show host Savannah Guthrie, was last seen at her home outside Tucson on January 31. She was reported missing the very next day, on February 1, 2026. Authorities believe she was abducted or taken against her will.

A crucial timeline for her disappearance places the abduction between 1:47 AM, when her doorbell camera was disconnected, and 2:28 AM, when her pacemaker app lost its connection. This use of smart home tech and medical devices to track events is really interesting and helps investigators narrow down the window. Authorities are particularly worried about Nancy’s health because she requires vital daily medication, making her recovery even more urgent.

While no leading theory on the motive for taking the elderly woman has emerged, investigators are sifting through thousands of tips. The family is desperate for answers. Savannah Guthrie expressed that they “still believe in a miracle” and are “blowing on the embers of hope,” but also acknowledged the possibility that Nancy “may already be gone.”

Savannah emphasized the family’s need for closure, saying, “We need to know where she is. We need her to come home.” The family is offering a private reward of up to $1 million for any information that leads to Nancy’s recovery. The FBI Phoenix also announced that they are offering a reward of up to $100,000 for information leading to Nancy’s recovery and/or the arrest and conviction of anyone involved in her disappearance.

So far, the police have identified potential suspects through forensic investigation; however, there have been no arrests that have led to charges in this case yet.
