Maryland woman captures man allegedly stealing her delivered package on doorbell camera, says it’s her Amazon Flex driver: ‘Say hiiii to the camera’

A Maryland woman says her doorbell camera recorded a baffling delivery that raised questions about whether an Amazon Flex driver accidentally took back her package or intentionally left with it. TikTok creator Vanessa (@nesss097) shared a short clip that appears to show a driver placing a package on her porch, taking the required delivery photo, and then picking the package back up before leaving. She captioned the video, “@Amazon get your drivers say hiiii to the camera :),” suggesting the man might be a porch pirate.

The video sparked debate in the comments. While some viewers agreed the footage looked suspicious, many others suggested the driver may have realized the package belonged at another address before leaving.

One commenter asked, “did he have two packages in his hands? hard to tell. sometimes i mess up and place the wrong package at a multi-stop, and have to reswap them.”

Vanessa responded to that commenter’s inquiry, “He had one. He moved my other package I had sitting there and then took a picture of the package he put down and picked it back up and walked off with it,” she wrote.

Another viewer argued the incident likely resulted from a delivery mistake rather than theft. The commenter said drivers who intend to steal packages would not normally go through the trouble of stopping, placing a package, taking a proof-of-delivery photo, and then leaving with it.

Instead, that commenter suggested a driver could report a package as missing before it reached the address. The commenter also questioned why someone would risk stealing a package without knowing what was inside.

Vanessa acknowledged that possibility but remained unconvinced. “Idk, never had someone take a picture and say they delivered a package and then walk off with it. ask him,” she replied.
