The Marjorie Taylor Greene redemption arc is extremely satisfying to watch. For years, Greene was one of Donald Trump’s most passionate cheerleaders, standing in lockstep with him on things MAGA and fiercely defending him against his critics. For a brief moment, there was even speculation she could be his Vice President.
But, in a twist nobody saw coming, Greene’s principles were stronger than her loyalty to Trump. After years of campaigning against sexual abuse, she refused to back down when the Trump administration tried to sweep the Epstein files under the rug.
Now, with Trump breaking his promise of “no new wars” (and especially his promise not to go to war against Iran) she’s even more adamantly opposed to him. To her credit, she seems genuinely nauseated by her former colleagues, as proven by her horror over the US/Israeli strike on an elementary school that killed around 160 little girls.
Now, with bizarre apocalyptic fantasies of triggering Judgment Day through destroying Iran running rampant in the US military, Greene is reminding Christians to remember Christ’s teachings:
If your church leaders and elected leaders are telling you the way to bring Jesus back is by killing innocent children of innocent foreign people you’ve never met in a foreign land you’ve never been to, then your believing the lies of wolves dressed in sheep’s clothing. pic.twitter.com/t2vyHExYWj

What Would Jesus Do? (probably not this)
It goes without saying that resurrecting Christ through the blood offering of 160 little girls isn’t in keeping with anything in the gospel. Christ himself didn’t need to underline that point, but elsewhere in the Bible it strictly points out that “burning sons and daughters” in sacrifice is something “the Lord hates” and an “abominable act” (Deuteronomy 12:31).
You might argue that Christ allowing himself to be crucified is, in a way, a form of human sacrifice. You’d be wrong, as this was God’s own act through Jesus, who willingly laid down his life (John 10:18). Remember, consent is important.
Maybe I’m missing the point. Even if Christ could be resurrected via the act of brutally murdering 160 innocent schoolgirls with high explosives, we still shouldn’t do it! Judging by his teachings, I’m betting he’d be really mad if he returned to Earth, saw a carpet of smashed child torsos and severed girl limbs, and realized that’s how we dragged him out of heaven!
