Woman recalls her first-ever date at 18 handing her a pocket knife. Commenters are just happy that she made it out: ‘I’m glad you still here girl’

Survival instincts went extinct that day.

A TikTok video shared by creator @jaellysandwich has gained massive attention with over 2.3 million views, detailing a first date that spiraled into a series of bizarre and unsafe situations, the Daily Dot reported. The creator, who grew up as a Jehovah’s Witness and was not permitted to date, decided to explore the dating scene after leaving her religion.

She matched with a man on Bumble who she believed was in his early twenties. After spending about a month chatting on Discord, they finally planned to meet in person at a Cheesecake Factory. The red flags started appearing almost immediately.

On the day of the outing, her date asked if a friend could join them, and he then disclosed that he and this friend had previously been sexually involved in college. Despite these odd disclosures, she agreed to move forward with the plan. Things took a turn for the worse when he arrived to pick her up. Instead of the two men she expected, she found four men packed into the car. They were all friends who had decided to join the trip to celebrate a birthday.

The red flags just couldn’t stop coming

The group drove for about an hour to a location in Kennesaw, Georgia, which was significantly further from her home in Atlanta than the restaurant she had initially expected. The situation became even more uncomfortable upon their arrival when a fifth man climbed out of the car trunk.

Once they were at the restaurant, the group discussed topics she couldn’t relate to at all. During the meal, her date watched her interact with a baby at a nearby table and told her she would be a good mother to his children. One commenter on the video found this behavior particularly alarming, writing, “‘i love a woman with maternal instincts’ to an 18 YEAR OLD?!”

After the meal, the man suggested splitting the check, and the entire group returned to his home to socialize. She found herself sitting on a couch with the group while they drank, and she eventually considered calling an Uber home. However, the price was too high for her to justify given the distance.

Her date then suggested they go for a walk on a nearby trail. In a move that feels completely surreal, he handed her a pocketknife to hold in case she felt unsafe. While on the trail, he brought up a sexual kink involving insemination that she was unfamiliar with, which prompted her to ask to return immediately. As they walked back, he kissed her without her consent, marking her first kiss.

She managed to call an Uber for about $50 once they returned to the house and left the group behind. The aftermath of the date was difficult, as her father eventually discovered her messages with the man, which caused a temporary strain in their relationship. Fortunately, she noted that they have since reconciled and she is now in a happy relationship. She also shared that the experience impacted her comfort level around men for about two years.

Viewers were quick to react to the series of poor decisions throughout the night. One user compared the experience to a mobile game, writing, “it’s like a game of episode where you can’t afford good decisions.” Another commenter took a more direct approach to her safety, stating, “survival instincts of a fart, but i’m glad you still here girl.”
