Donald Trump quietly deleted a Truth Social post. One phrase about transgender surgery sent MAGA spiraling

Had to do a 180 right away

President Donald Trump removed a social media post that appeared to endorse transgender surgery for children if parents gave consent. He quickly replaced it with a firm stance against all such surgeries for minors after facing heavy criticism from conservatives.

According to Mediaite, the original post was promoting the SAVE Act and stated that the bill would stop “TRANSGENDER MUTILATION SURGERY FOR CHILDREN, WITHOUT THE EXPRESS WRITTEN APPROVAL OF THE PARENTS.” The phrasing implied that parental consent could make such procedures acceptable for minors, which immediately triggered a strong backlash from conservatives across social media.

Former Republican congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene was among the most vocal critics. She posted that Trump now supported “trans gender mutilation surgeries of children if their parents want it!” Greene added, “What is wrong with him??? To do this to a child is absolutely disgusting, wrong, and a complete perversion of God’s creation AND NOW THE PRESIDENT SAYS ITS OK AS LONG AS THESE SICK PARENTS AGREE!!!”

Greene continued, saying she was “done. Absolutely done.” She felt that “giving into Democrats on transing children is enough to lose me forever.” She also warned that if the GOP were to support “transing minors with sick mentally ill parent’s consent,” she would register as an independent. This is not the first time Trump has faced conservative pushback, his handling of sensitive foreign policy decisions has also drawn criticism from within his own base.

Conservative commentator Matt Walsh also responded. He argued that “‘No trans surgery for children without parental consent’ is meaningless.” Walsh explained that “The kids who are mutilated almost always have parental consent.” For him, the issue was not about whether parents agreed. He stated that “The issue is that the procedure is barbaric and insane, no matter if parents agree to it or not.”

In response to the wave of criticism, Trump deleted the original post. He replaced it with a shorter and clearer statement that simply read: “NO TRANSGENDER MUTILATION SURGERY FOR CHILDREN.” The new post removed any mention of parental consent entirely.

Trump has shown a similar pattern of shifting positions on other major issues, including his stance on the ongoing Ukraine conflict. The change marked a shift to an absolute position against such surgeries for minors. The quick turnaround showed how swiftly conservative criticism influenced the messaging around the post.
