A woman’s TikTok video showing mold inside a Minute Maid juice carton has gone viral with over 1.1 million views. She had purchased the carton from Walmart, and what she found inside shocked both her and the people watching. The video has sparked a lot of concern about the safety of the product among consumers.
According to Brobible, the woman, who posted under the username @dailyyyviewsss, started by pouring herself a glass of Minute Maid from a new carton. As she looked at the juice, she noticed a greyish creamy substance floating inside. Curious about what it was, she decided to cut open the carton to get a closer look.
Once she opened it, viewers could clearly see greyish-cream clumps floating on top of the juice. She also pointed the camera at the expiration date on the carton, which read May 26, 2026, well within its shelf life. The on-screen text in her video read: “MinuteMaid count yo days,” and she warned others not to buy Minute Maid or purchase it from Walmart.
Mold in Minute Maid cartons is not a new problem, and customers have complained about it for years
Many people in the comments shared that the same thing had happened to them. One commenter wrote, “That’s why I drink water.” Another viewer added, “I stopped drinking anything in a carton. If I can’t see what’s in it…then I don’t want it. 😫😫.” Social media continues to surface shocking consumer experiences, much like a woman’s unsettling Tinder date at the mall that left viewers equally stunned.
This isn’t the first time Minute Maid has been connected to mold. Back in 2013, a Reddit user with the name Poison_Mold claimed that a moldy carton of Minute Maid orange juice made their family sick after they had unknowingly been drinking from it for about a week. The family had no idea the juice was contaminated until the user noticed something was wrong. The user’s sister eventually received a gift certificate from Coca-Cola, but only after sending the mold for testing.
The issue goes back even further than 2013. In 2012, a YouTube user posted a video showing what he said was mold found inside a box of Minute Maid juice. According to Huffpost, he also described difficult and frustrating interactions with Minute Maid’s customer service team, and was eventually offered only a coupon for a free package of orange juice as compensation.
When asked about the recent video, a Minute Maid representative said the product is a 100% juice product that does not contain preservatives. They also acknowledged that food spoilage can happen when a package is damaged or left open, but claimed it is highly unlikely to pose a health risk to consumers.
Viral moments like this one keep popping up online, and some are just as baffling, such as a failed convenience store armed robbery that went sideways in the most unexpected way. The video has raised serious questions about how often this kind of thing happens with Minute Maid products, and whether it is more widespread than the company suggests.
Many viewers are left feeling uneasy about consuming the product, especially given that multiple people have now reported the same issue over a span of more than a decade. With the video still gaining attention, it is clear that consumers want answers and better transparency from the brand.
