‘I just can’t even as a grown adult’: Florida server goes viral describing three customers who tested her patience in a single shift

The third one is hard to believe actually happened

Florida content creator and restaurant worker KenzB (@cokekenz) recently shared her frustrating work experiences in a viral TikTok series called Am I On Earth. In the videos, she talks about three specific customer encounters that all happened during a single food-running shift. The video has already pulled in nearly 300,000 views.

Kenz explains in her TikTok video that her shift started as a food-running assignment, which usually means dropping off plates without much interaction. About ten minutes in, while dropping food at the bar area, a customer from a different section called her over to ask where their food was. Kenz told them it would be out as soon as it was ready, but the customer insisted she had already taken food to another table.

According to Brobible, Kenz checked and saw the table’s order had only been placed six minutes before. Even after explaining this, the customer kept yelling for updates. Kenz told her viewers, “Today is not actually my day to deal with these problems. This is actually my freebie day, where I just come in. I make my little amount of money. I hang out with my little friends. And I have a good old time. And you’re actually ruining that for me.”

Service workers across the country are relating to Kenz’s experience of being pushed to the limit by unreasonable customers

About an hour later, a different customer at the bar stopped her to demand dessert service. When Kenz told the woman that another staff member would be over to help, the customer claimed the staff was too busy and ignoring her. Kenz looked around and saw only four people at the bar, making it clear the staff was not ignoring anyone.

Kenz responded to her viewers about the situation, saying, “Hey, hey, welcome to a restaurant. You ever been here before? Unfortunately if you want to be the only one in here, you kind of have to rent the whole place out. That’s sort of how it works. However, if you want to come in like a normal person and pay normal person prices and have a normal service experience, you kinda have to understand that you’re not the only person in here, ‘kay?”

The third encounter was the one that pushed her over the edge. While delivering food to a large party, she handed a plate to a man who immediately said he did not order it. When she asked what he had ordered, he described the exact dish she was holding in front of him.

Florida has seen no shortage of viral moments lately, including a Florida woman who urged followers to target MAGA supporters in a TikTok video that led to her sentencing. Even after that, the man still refused to accept it was his meal, leading to a back-and-forth argument that Kenz compared to a scene from SpongeBob SquarePants. She eventually had to have another server step in to finish the delivery.

Kenz vented to her followers, “I just can’t even as a grown adult man, right? You’re looking at me, someone who works here, who just told you this is the dish that you ordered, and you said, ‘No, it’s not.’ And I asked you what you ordered, and you tell me. And I said, ‘Yes, that is this.’ And you’re still gonna tell me, ‘No, that’s not it.’ What? What are you f- even talking about?”

The comments section filled up quickly with other service workers sharing their own stories. One user wrote, “mind you i experience this as well. so she is not exaggerating,” while another added, “I swear every day in a restaurant is people’s first day on earth.”

Florida has also been home to other bizarre viral stories, such as a Florida man convinced a tree is slowly moving closer to his house, and it turns out it is not as far-fetched as it sounds. For anyone who has worked in customer service, these kinds of shifts are, unfortunately, not that unusual.
