A woman, who goes by the name Ashley Kandel, filming herself at an outdoor cafe in Saint-Tropez has drawn attention online after claiming, in on-screen text, that a man sitting behind her was wearing a watch worth $2 million. The video was shared on TikTok along and the tags suggested it was recorded at the cafe Sénéquier, in Saint-Tropez, France. 

Ashley’s caption implied that she frequented the cafe to see its posh clientele every day. In the clip, Ashley is shown seated at a red table at the cafe, holding an iced drink with a straw while a small, light brown poodle-like dog sits on her lap. 

A man in a light blue shirt can be seen seated at a table behind her. Text overlaid on the video reads, “The guy in the blue shirt behind me is wearing a $2 million Richard Mille at breakfast and that’s exactly why I come to Sénéquier every morning.” 

The watch steals the conversation, but some commenters raise privacy concerns

Aside from the on-screen text, the video itself does not show any interaction between the woman and the man she references. Ashley is seen sipping her drink, looking around the cafe, and petting her dog as the clip continues. The man in the blue shirt is seen as being seated in the background, among other patrons at the cafe.

Richard Mille is a Swiss watch brand known for producing high-end timepieces, with some models priced well into the millions of dollars depending on materials and rarity. However, the specific watch referenced in the video has not been confirmed, and its price could not be verified.

The video has drawn a range of reactions in the comments section, with some viewers questioning the woman’s decision to point out another patron’s belongings without his apparent knowledge. One commenter wrote, “and my question to you is why is your back to him? you are seriously invading his privacy with this remarks.” Another asked, “What is your business what watch someone else wears?”

Other viewers questioned whether the watch was authentic. One comment read, “Most probably a $2000 superclone,” suggesting the item may not have been a genuine Richard Mille piece.
