Man buys last-minute World Cup tickets in Dallas. Then he realizes who’s sitting behind him

Several commenters pointed it out.

A soccer fan who bought last-minute tickets to a World Cup match in Dallas reportedly ended up seated in the middle of Norway‘s family section, directly behind relatives of star player Erling Haaland. The moment was captured on video and shared on TikTok, where it has since gained wide attention online.

The video was posted under the TikTok handle @beachmom245. In the clip, a man wearing a black and grey USA jersey films himself joining in the Viking Row chant, a tradition largely associated with Norwegian sports fans that involves synchronized rowing motions and swaying movements.

On-screen text in the video reads, “When you buy last minute tickets to World Cup and end up seated in Norway’s family section with Haaland’s family right behind you.” The video has amassed 1.4 million views.

Commenters online claim to identify Haaland’s girlfriend in the video

Several people who commented on the video claimed to identify specific individuals seated near the man in the footage. One commenter wrote, “That’s is Haaland GF in the cowboy hat over his left shoulder.”

Other commenters focused on the man’s behavior during the chant. One wrote, “i love how you did their chant with them and were respectful even when rooting for the other team idk something abt it is so poetic, we truly are healing.” Another simply called it the “Hardest flex of the day!” A third commenter reacted more broadly to the moment, writing, “It really reminds you that they’re just someone’s baby.”

In the video, the man filming can be seen turning toward a woman wearing a cowboy hat and a Norway jersey, who is also filming on her phone. As the chant continues, he is seen smiling and pointing in rhythm with the crowd, while a woman seated next to him joins in as well. The camera later pans to a wider shot of the stadium, where a screen displays the word “Dallas.”

Haaland, born on July 21, 2000, has drawn significant attention during the tournament and is widely regarded as a key contributor to Norway’s performance so far. As of writing, Haaland had scored seven goals in the tournament. On Sunday, Norway defeated Brazil by a score of 2-1, with Haaland scoring both goals for his team.

Following that match, Haaland was quoted by the Mirror US discussing his reaction to the win. “I couldn’t quite believe it because I didn’t dream of this, ever in my life,” he said. “I dreamt of playing in the World Cup with Norway and taking them to the World Cup, but I never expected to win against Brazil, let’s be honest.”

He continued, “I thought it was not possible to do some things, but I guess I’m wrong.” Haaland also said, “It’s incredible to win. I’ve said it now again and again, I never dreamt of this and, I mean, it’s a bit surrealistic to be in the moment to be with the biggest players in the World Cup.” In another case, a Long Island mom accidentally bought an $8,100 parking pass on StubHub while purchasing World Cup tickets.

Haaland added further comments on the significance of his performance. “Of course, as a football player you want to be in the World Cup and you want to perform. But let’s be honest, to score seven goals for Norway in the World Cup, it’s quite special.”

He went on to say, “It’s unreal and I don’t have words. It’s difficult to put into words what I’m feeling and what I’m doing, you know, because it is unreal, and I feel the need to pinch myself some times in the arm, because it’s big, you know.”

The TikTok video’s caption reads, “BEST time at an amazing game,” and tags both the Norway National Team and FIFA World Cup accounts, along with the hashtags “#norway,” “#worldcup,” and “#dallas.” Meanwhile, tens of thousands of World Cup tickets remain unsold as variable pricing drama escalates.
