A Michigan TikTok creator says a routine stop at a McDonald’s turned into a heated confrontation after a drive-thru customer allegedly refused an employee’s request during a heavy rainstorm outside. The incident, which the creator says happened amid widespread power outages in parts of Michigan, has drawn thousands of reactions online.
TikTok creator Jennbishhhh (@jennbishhhh) shared the video in July 2026 after visiting a McDonald’s to charge her phone because the electricity at her home was out. According to the text overlay, she encountered what she described as a “Karen” while doing so.
Jennbishhhh claimed employees asked the woman waiting in the drive-thru to switch off her windshield wipers because the blades were splashing rainwater onto workers and equipment at the service window. She reported the employees remained polite during the interaction.
Things seemingly escalated inside the restaurant
Jennbishhhh then wrote in the caption that after refusing the McDonald’s employee’s request, the customer accepted her food, parked, entered the restaurant, and confronted staff inside.
The video itself focuses on the aftermath inside the restaurant rather than the reported exchange at the drive-thru window. The unidentified woman argues heatedly with an employee at the counter.
As employees attempt to de-escalate the situation, the woman repeatedly insists, “I’m a customer!” She accuses the staff of being “disrespectful,” tells them to “shut up,” and frequently talks over them as they try to respond.
Eventually, one employee threatens to call the police, telling her she must leave the restaurant and that she is now trespassing. The woman disputes that claim and argues she has the right to remain, but she ultimately exits while continuing to shout at employees.
Commenters weighed in on common drive-thru etiquette. “A lot of people dont think nor care to turn wipers off and not blow smoke/vape in the window. It irks the hell outta me,” one commenter said.
Another commenter argued the restaurant should have taken stronger action, writing, “I would’ve refused service and then when she came in called the cops. Customers need to learn their place they are so entitled.”
Michigan’s Independence Day 2026 storms
Jennbishhhh’s post appeared as many Michigan residents dealt with significant storm damage and prolonged power outages. Severe thunderstorms and powerful wind gusts swept across parts of the state during the Independence Day weekend, leaving hundreds of thousands of utility customers without electricity.
DTE Energy brought in crews from multiple states and Canada to assist restoration efforts as officials described the damage as among the most significant the utility had experienced in years, according to CBS News.
Jennbishhhh did not identify which McDonald’s location was involved in the incident or when it occurred. The events shown in the video have not been independently verified.
Neither McDonald’s nor the TikTok creator indicated whether the customer or restaurant staff contacted law enforcement after the confrontation. Opinions expressed are those of Jennbishhhh and the commenters.
