A woman recently got into an argument with a Little Caesars cashier for being short 60 cents ordering pizza, and folks on TikTok and other social media platforms are divided over their response.
The clip in question runs for roughly 30 seconds. It shows a woman recording an employee after realizing she couldn’t pay for her order.
The woman had a child with her and about $7 on hand. The gap between that and her total was 60 cents. “I just want you to tell Little Caesars that you just refused 60 cents,” she tells the worker, noting that she had brought her baby into the store.
She then presses the employee to cover the difference herself. “You couldn’t let 60 cents slide.” Whatever the employee says in reply cannot be heard on the recording. The woman walks out saying her baby will go hungry, then leaves the worker with a warning: “You about to go viral.”
She was right about that part. Where the sympathy landed is another question.
The consensus runs against her, but still leaves room for goodwill
Versions of the footage has been circulating on different accounts, with commentaries by folks on social media.
“That employee is not obligated to take care of your child,” noted the user @toddbauer312 on TikTok. “That’s your job. That’s your responsibility.”
They also argued that a lot of people in the comments section tried to give her solutions for things she can buy for under $7. Under the same video, one user stated that Little Caesars employees make minimum wage: “They’re there working because they have bills to pay.”
“You’ve no business having a baby you can’t take care of,” wrote one user on X.
Another user said that maybe the employee could’ve spared 60 cents. “I’ve noticed people judge someone’s entire life from a 60-cent moment,” added one person.
“Sixty cents short for her baby’s meal and the cashier chose policy over basic kindness,” another comment read.
And then there’s the one response that took issue with something else entirely. “My first thought was why the hell would you feed pizza to a baby?”
Whatever your take on the matter, it’s important to remember that everyone weighing in has seen only a few seconds of the whole exchange.
Little Caesars has yet to offer a response to the clip or its coverage, leaving the case to continue being debated in the replies.
