‘I’d be knocking on room 612 right now’: A wife learned her husband was cheating after she saw an order on their shared DoorDash account

A woman on Reddit says a shared DoorDash account, tied to their joint DashPass subscription, unravelled a month of supposed overtime and revealed her husband was actually having an affair.

The husband, per the thread, works as a project manager, she wrote, and had been pinning the hours on a product rollout. She had been saving him food and had stopped questioning what time he walked in. 

Then came the day when the whole narrative unraveled. He called her at 7 p.m. on a Tuesday, and told her to go to bed without him. He said he would make do with whatever the vending machine had. “Babe, I’m gonna be here until at least 1 AM, don’t wait up,” she quoted him as saying.

She came close to buying him a ride home. Then a notification for food delivery from a sushi restaurant buzzed on her phone. It’s a cuisine she says her husband will not touch, because he hates raw fish.

She opened the order details anyway. It was a Valentine’s-branded deluxe platter, and two spicy tuna orders. There was also a description: “two sets of chopsticks and extra ginger.”

What’s more, the address on the order pointed to a downtown Hilton rather than his office building. Specifically, room 612.

About ten minutes later she sent him a message asking whether he’d eaten. “Yeah, just eating a sad ham sandwich at my desk now. Miss you,” he replied back.

A second app confirmed her suspicions

The Reddit poster then opened the couple’s Tesla app, which lists vehicle movement tracking among its advertised functions. The car was showing up at the hotel, nowhere near his workplace.

“The lying is just ABSOLUTELY pathetic,” she wrote. By the end of the post she still had not confronted him, describing herself as sitting with a completed-delivery notice on her screen, presumably waiting on Redditors to chime in with their thoughts.

And chime in, they did. “I’d be knocking on room 612 right now,” one user wrote.

“With a camera recording the video for the divorce lawyers and family that sides with him,” replied another person.

One reply had a much more diabolical plan: “No, no. Call the hotel and have a bottle of their cheapest champagne sent to room 612 compliments of the Mrs.”

“Your husband IS the sad ham sandwich,” another reply read. 

Others noted that a similar story was posted on Reddit a while ago, so they’re taking this one with a grain of salt. Then again, reading posts on a subreddit named r/cheating_stories arguably comes with that caveat — hotel rooms and secret food orders — built in.

WGTC has not been able to independently verify this account, and the husband has not been reached for comment.
