Woman says she noticed a stalker following her, taking picture of her service dog. Then she figured out what her allegedly sinister intention was

People on TikTok warned that the alleged stalker was waiting for the right moment to strike.

A woman who noticed she and her service dog were being followed has claimed the stalker may have been planning to steal her dog. A compilation of clips, which were posted to TikTok, showed the same woman wearing glasses and a yellow shirt, following the woman and her dog around a shopping mall.

TikToker “The Service Flower” posted a video showing what she claimed to be proof that another woman was “blatantly following” her and her dog Jasmine for a period of 10 minutes. In the initial video, Jasmine’s owner claimed she was in line at Starbucks when a woman got in line behind them: “After I got my drink, I walked about 100 yards away, and she followed us.”

She began noticing that the woman was stopping in all the same places as her and Jasmine, and she even realized that the alleged stalker hadn’t even ordered anything from the Starbucks despite queuing behind them. The woman kept lingering and was clearly watching us.” Eventually, the woman apparently took a photo of Jasmine and her owner before they left.

People on TikTok think it was an attempted dog-napping

While Jasmine’s owner was uncomfortable with the woman’s stalking and photographing, she ultimately didn’t think too much of it, saying, “If you want a picture of someone’s service dog. Just ask.” Service dogs often get a lot of attention; however, viewers thought there was something a lot more sinister going on.

This video has been up for a couple days now and honestly im grateful I posted it. I received a lot of support and had a lot of people validate thoughts and emotions I had about the situation. The overall verdict seems to be that she was probably going to attempt to steal my service dog if I got distracted. Whatever the reason may be, im glad that I have good situational awareness and know enough to look out for this kind of behavior. in the event that my service dog would’ve gotten stolen I would’ve had all of this footage to turn into the police to use as proof and be able to identify the person. This is just a reminder to stay aware of your surroundings and watch out for people like this because even if it seems like she’s just doing something as harmless as taking a photo, her intentions could really be so much more. #servicedog#dog#viral#foryou

“I’d call security,” wrote one person, “I’d be worried that she was a spotter for people stealing service animals. They are worth a lot.” Another commenter warned Jasmine’s owner to be careful, claiming the same thing happened to them and their service dog before thieves found out where they lived and tried to steal their dog.

Following the comments, Jasmine’s owner made a second video in which she shared her fears that they were right. “I’m pretty sure that this lady was planning on stealing my service dog,” she said. While she claimed that there were some comments accusing her of being paranoid, most agreed with her that she was being followed by the stranger.

Jasmine’s owner said that certain things the woman was doing prompted her to suspect that the whole thing was about more than just getting a picture: “It’s not just the act itself; it was the way that she was going about it.”

In the video description, she states that she is glad she posted the initial video and is grateful for the support she received, as well as the validation from various commenters. “The overall verdict seems to be that she was probably going to attempt to steal my service dog if I got distracted.” Of course, we can’t know for certain whether or not this was actually the case but it pays to always be aware of one’s surroundings.
