Man arrives at the charging station outside Target. Then he discovers an awkward roadside mystery: ‘It’s a wand massager’

A Reddit user recently stumbled upon an unusual sight while “At the charging station in front of Target.” The user, CharlesLeChuck, shared a photo in the Reddit community r/trashy, revealing a discarded box for a vibrator left right on the road. The device itself had been removed, but the packaging was left behind, strewn around, along with the mysterious presence of a fork in its wrapping. 

In the post, the user jokingly remarked, “I guess you gotta find a way to kill the time while your car charges. I usually just listen to a podcast, but to each their own.” The post quickly drew a flurry of reactions from other Redditors. Most jumped in with a variety of jokes. One user wrote, “Why is the charger buzzing?” and another added, “You have to do something while charging.” Another jokingly wrote, “Sorry about that, I couldn’t find the bin/garbage can. Sorry!”

One Redditor jokingly brushed aside everyone’s dirty jokes, telling the community, “It’s a wand massager, it says so right on the box.” One user poked fun at the poster, telling them, “Fake. It’s yours. You put it there for sub credit.” A user jokingly defended the mess by writing, “Twas an emergency I tell you!” That was quickly met with a pointed response, “Thats no excuse for littering.”

In the comments, the User ultimately stated that the mess was what actually bothered them. They wrote, “The issue is less with the vibrator and more with the litter though honestly. There was a dumpster like 50 feet away and plenty of trash cans around. I’m not shitting on anyone for wanting a new toy regardless of the situation, but don’t throw your trash on the ground.” 

One commenter who identified as a former Target employee offered some perspective on the find. They claimed, “Former Target worker here, those get stolen all the time. You find the packaging pretty regularly around the store. Like way more often than you want to. It’s less gross than finding people’s half eaten food or drinks left on shelves in with the merch though. Especially bananas in the toy section. Thanks all you moms out there!”

This level is commonly found in public locations like retail parks and supermarkets. Additionally, most charging spots come with their own adaptors, so one TikToker showed her viewers how to access it and avoid having to buy an expensive adaptor.

For those looking for the quickest turnaround, Level 3 charging, or DC fast charging, is the way to go per the site. These stations bypass the car’s onboard charger to deliver power directly to the battery. 

Depending on the vehicle and the station, some cars can be fully charged in under 20 minutes using this method. Because DC fast charging is so efficient, it is the primary choice for long-distance travel and urban areas where quick stops are necessary. Although it should be considered that manufacturers like Tesla can switch off supercharging remotely.

Power Solutions cautioned that it is important to remember the tapering effect. As a battery nears full capacity, the charging speed slows down to protect the battery’s health. This means the final 20 percent of a charge often takes longer than the initial 80 percent.
