Kit Harington Hints At A Very Bloody Season Four Of Game Of Thrones

Fans of HBO's hit show Game of Thrones know very well that it's had its fair share of death in the past. Back during Comic-Con, we even had an amusing "In Memoriam" clip to remind us that several of these fictitious characters have lost their lives over the mere three seasons that the show has been on. Even with all of the deaths occurring in the show, it still didn't prepare us for what we witnessed with the infamous "Red Wedding," where some very unexpected events took place.

Fans of HBO’s hit show Game of Thrones know very well that it’s had its fair share of death in the past. Back during Comic-Con, we even had an amusing “In Memoriam” clip to remind us that several of these fictitious characters have lost their lives over the mere three seasons that the show has been on. Even with all of the deaths occurring in the show, it still didn’t prepare us for what we witnessed with the infamous “Red Wedding,” where some very unexpected events took place.

If you thought that was the worst of it, then you better guess again. While on the Emmy’s red carpet, Kit Harington (aka Jon Snow) had a brief interview about what we can expect to see in the currently-shooting season four. Among the tidbits he gives out is that is will be “action-packed” and that there will be “more deaths than any other season.”

For those that have been following the show, it’s hard to imagine that there could be even more death than they’ve already had. That being said, having read the third book recently, I can confirm that there is indeed a lot of death to come. It’s rather interesting how The Red Wedding, despite being very shocking, somewhat created a sense of calm, giving many the false impression that the worst is over and that Martin had probably gotten over his blood lust with that scene.

That’s the feeling that came over me while reading the novel. Having started it after watching season three, it was no surprise when I got to The Red Wedding, but I also expected that things would probably calm down a bit as the remaining characters tried to collect themselves and take stock of the situation.

Boy was I wrong.

Without going into any spoilers, I’ll just say that you shouldn’t assume that any character is safe, no matter how important they are. After the events of season three, I would think that this would kind of be a given, but just know that things aren’t about to calm down. This is one season of television that I truly cannot wait for. If it’s done as well as it is in the book, then this could easily be the one that earns it that Best Drama Series Emmy that’s been eluding it for the past three years.

Season four of Game of Thrones is scheduled to begin airing this spring (late March/early April) and will be covering the latter half of George R.R. Martin’s A Storm of Swords.
