If you’re one of those people who thinks that Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice is overcrowded, you might want to turn back now, because a new report suggests that Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, Cyborg, and Aquaman won’t be the only superheroes in the film. According to The Daily SuperHero, everyone’s favorite speedster may be making a blink-or-you’ll-miss-it cameo as well.

That’s right, the Flash is the latest character rumored to appear in BVS, though his role sounds like it won’t be very substantial, and will instead set the stage for his full appearance in the already-announced Justice League film.

According to one of The Daily SuperHero’s insiders, the Flash will appear in security camera footage that shows the scarlet speedster stopping a robbery in progress, as seen by a “sudden flash of wind.” Now, while that little save could easily be something that Superman stops using his own super speed, their sources are adamant that it’s the Flash who swoops in to save the day.

Of course, this hasn’t been confirmed by Warner Bros. or any of the trades, so take it with the requisite grain of salt. However, it is an intriguing idea, and would actually be the perfect way to introduce the Flash into the burgeoning DC cinematic universe without really showing him on screen. Perhaps the security tape is something that Batman shows Superman in the Batcave, to show that heroes are cropping up all around the world in response to the Last Son of Krypton’s presence in Metropolis? It’s just an idea, but one of many possibilities for such a small little nod to the fan-favorite character.

If this rumor proves true, it does leave us with one big question: Will the Flash shown in the footage be Grant Gustin’s version, who will make his debut on his own CW series this fall? From what we’ve heard so far, it seems like WB and DC will keep their television and film universes separate, though a small cameo like this certainly leaves the door open for Gustin to don the costume on the big screen in the future. Perhaps if the show is a tremendous success, WB will re-think their larger plans and reel in not only Gustin, but Stephen Amell’s Green Arrow as well.

As I said, this is all rumor and speculation for now, so keep a close eye on We Got This Covered for any concrete details or announcements in the future. Until that happens, let us know your thoughts on the potential Flash cameo in the comments section below.
