Heroes star Milo Ventimiglia is heading to the dark and troubled streets of Gotham. Fox’s Batman prequel series is gearing up to include a plethora of high-profile villains from the pages of DC’s sizeable comic book back catalogue, and now it looks to be adding one more, as Ventimiglia will be joining the show for what’s being dubbed a “major recurring arc.”

Set to debut in episode 19 as the handsome, wealthy and seductive, Jason Lennon, his charms will soon fall away to reveal a much darker side to his persona: He’s a serial killer. Like all comic book baddies, he’s often referred to by a gruesome nickname – The Ogre – which sort of betrays his ‘handsome’ and ‘seductive’ attributes.

Here’s a more in-depth description (via The Wrap):

The Ogre has been preying on Gotham’s young women for nearly a decade, luring them into his web and confronting them with a series of “tests” as he searches for his perfect mate. When the women fail to live up to his impossible standard, Lennon disposes of them quickly and viciously. His obsessions, combined with Gordon’s (Ben McKenzie) determination to bring him down, send both men — and those around them — on a course toward tragedy.

A familiar monicker to those with more than a passing knowledge of Batman’s greatest adversaries, this iteration of The Ogre was conjured up specifically for the show. He may share a name with the comic book Ogre, but the similarity ends there.

Now that Gotham has yet another villain on its way to terrorize the city’s endangered citizens, what do you make of Milo Ventimiglia as The Ogre? Let us know in the comments section below.
