Finding a parking spot in the city can be tough, especially if that city is as densely populated as London. With its tight roads drivers in the UK capital can struggle to drive around under normal circumstances, but if you combine that with poor parking it becomes almost impossible and that is exactly what happened to one person on TikTok.
In a clip posted to the video-sharing platform TikToker “@xdaddyraph,” (AKA Raph) a driver in an area in West London encountered a rather frustrating road block in the form of a parked car. The tight road only has enough room for single file traffic which is a relatively common sight in the UK. However, in this case, one car has parked on a bend close to another car parked on the other side of the road, leaving an incredibly narrow gap that essentially blocks other drivers.
The driver can be heard venting frustration at the person who parked the car there. “People like this should never deserve a car.” The driver says, “why are you blocking the whole f—ing road because you want to park?” he asks. Unfortunately the person who left their car in the spot isn’t anywhere to be seen meaning there’s little to be done about the situation.
Things escalate quickly
While most drivers would simply curse the unknown individual for leaving their car in such an inconsiderate spot the person in the video decides to take a stand. Towards the end of the video he can be heard saying, “I’m gonna slash the tires,” repeatedly.
The video cuts before we see him slashing the tires, and some commentators appeared to treat the remark as an empty threat made in the heat of the moment. “Bro said wallah and didn’t do it,” wrote one commenter, others echoed the sentiment with similar comments accusing the poster of not doing it.
However, Raph later responded to the comments calling him out with a picture of the car with a slashed tire indicating that he did indeed follow through on his threat. While the person who parked their car no doubt inconvenienced many drivers it’s worth pointing out that responding by slashing their tires could very well lead to a charge for criminal damage according to people on Reddit. Choosing to vandalize another person’s car is never a good idea.
Back on TikTok viewers also suggested that the local council was more to blame than the actual person that parked in that spot. There is only a single yellow line which technically means it’s legal to park there. Of course, that doesn’t mean a person should park there, especially because it’s on a bend and there are other cars in spaces across the road, but from a legal perspective the person who parked there might not have done anything wrong.
