The first think you need to know about this 6’9″ 240 pound NBA prospect is once drafted he’ll have one of the better names in the NBA.  Bismack Biyombo.  Go on, say it out loud.  Bismack.  Biyombo.  Nice. The next thing to know about him is he’s being touted as a smaller version of Dwight Howard.  Not a bad name to be linked to for a potential draftee.

Biyombo, who hails from the Democratic Republic of the Congo,  has a listed age of 18, however some think he’s in his 20’s.  The birthday thing even prompted his agent to take him to a bone specialist for a bone age study, and the conclusion is that he can’t possibly be in his 20’s.  What ever is age, he’s a highly athletic player with a non stop motor on the court and a 7’7″ wingspan.  He’s a shot blocking, rebounding, defensive minded player, that has room to develop some offensive skills.  As it is now, his offense is limited to dunks, put backs, and free throws.

He’s a vocal player on the court with natural leadership qualities.  He speaks five languages fluently and he’s played professionally in the highly competitive ACB League.  There’s a chance he could be a top 10 pick in the 2011 NBA Draft.
