John Constantine Arrives In Star City In Arrow Season 4, Episode 5 Description

Unfortunately, Constantine never really stood a chance; NBC gave the DC Comics series a terrible Friday time slot and barely promoted it ahead of the premiere, so it ultimately being cancelled surprised no one. However, fans quickly launched a #SaveConstantine campaign, and while that failed to find the show another network, it helped set the stage for Matt Ryan to reprise the role in season four of Arrow.

It’s been said that this is going to be a one off appearance for the character (quite possibly because Warner Bros. has plans for him in the upcoming Justice League Dark movie), but he’ll show up in the fifth episode, which is titled “Haunted”:

MATT RYAN REPRISES HIS ROLE AS JOHN CONSTANTINE ON ARROW — When things take a turn for the worse with Sara (guest star Caity Lotz), Oliver (Stephen Amell) calls in a favor from an old friend who deals in the mystical, John Constantine (guest star Matt Ryan). John Badham directed the episode written by Brian Ford Sullivan & Oscar Balderrama.

What’s particularly interesting about this description is the fact that the Green Arrow and Constantine clearly have some history, and it would be very cool to see this instalment of Arrow depict that in its flashbacks.

Or course, the reason Constantine is called in to help Team Arrow is because of Sara Lance’s resurrection, something which is set to be covered in next week’s episode (which you can get a first look at by clicking here).
