The CW has released a new promo for the midseason finale of The Flash, and it’s packed full of never before seen footage as Weather Wizard breaks out his fellow villains, Captain Cold and The Trickster, to assemble The Rogues and take down the Fastest Man Alive.
Here’s the synopsis for the episode, which is titled “Running to Stand Still”:
When Mark Mardon AKA The Weather Wizard (guest star Liam McIntyre) returns to break Leonard Snart AKA Captain Cold (guest star Wentworth Miller) and James Jesse AKA The Trickster (guest star Mark Hamill) out of Iron Heights, Barry (Grant Gustin) must stop these rogues from taking over Central City during Christmas. Meanwhile, Joe (Jesse L. Martin) and Iris (Candice Patton) meet Wally West (Keiynan Lonsdale).
A Christmas episode for a show like The Flash definitely feels appropriate, and while the synopsis above makes no mention Zoom, it’s nice to see him make an appearance in the promo, as it would have been more than a little underwhelming for the midseason finale to not advance that story in some way.
Regardless, seeing the Scarlet Speedster taking on The Rogues should be a lot of fun, especially as it looks like Captain Cold is playing both sides. We’ll find out more when The Flash‘s midseason finale airs tomorrow, but in the meantime, check out the new promo above and let us know what you think.
