Ready to get acquainted with the core members of Warner Bros. and Zack Snyder’s Justice League ensemble? The CW set the Internet alight yesterday evening with trailers and snippets for its major tentpoles – Suicide Squad and Wonder Woman, specifically – but they weren’t the only subjects of conversation.
Hosted by filmmaker and beloved writer Kevin Smith, DC Chief Creative Officer Geoff Johns talked through some of the leading players set to appear in Snyder’s two-part superhero ensemble, with today bringing forth featurettes for Cyborg (Ray Fisher), The Flash (Ezra Miller), Aquaman (Jason Momoa) and Green Lantern.
News first broke that Green Lantern Corps will be included in the Justice League universe earlier today, with Johns outlining the scale and scope of the DC Extended Universe.
“We’ve been to the bottom of the oceans, we’ve been to ancient Greek mythology, we’ve been to the past and the future with The Flash, and to the digital world with Cyborg,” said Johns. “We’ve still got to go to space. So the Green Lantern and the Green Lantern Corps will be coming to join the Justice League Universe.”
The dawn of the Justice League is creeping closer and closer by the day, and it all starts with the release of March’s Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice, which also got a featurette of its own last night. Featuring interviews from Henry Cavill, Ben Affleck and Jesse Eisenberg, it outlined the ways in which the Herculean showdown will have a profound effect on the DCEU moving forward.
Much like Avengers: Infinity War, Warner Bros. and Zack Snyder will debut Justice League across two separate installments, the first of which has been set for November, 2017 with the conclusive chapter pegged for June of 2019.
