This week’s episode of Legends of Tomorrow ended on quite the cliffhanger, as Professor Stein found himself in the hands of Vandal Savage’s Soviet soldiers. Based on this first look at the next instalment of the Arrow/The Flash spinoff, it looks like his people are going to succeed in creating a new Firestorm, and that might just spell doom for Rip Hunter’s team.

For more details on what to expect from “Fail-Safe,” here’s the official description courtesy of The CW:

After some of the Legends are captured and thrown into a Russian gulag during the height of the Cold War of 1986, Snart (Wentworth Miller) leads the team in an elaborate escape plan to free their comrades. However, Rip (Arthur Darvill) gives Sara (Caity Lotz) a secret side mission that could prove not only to be a liability, but fatal to the team. Dermott Downs directed the episode written by Beth Schwartz & Grainne Godfree.

So then, it sounds like things are going to get even more intense in next week’s Legends of Tomorrow, and it definitely feels like not everyone will be making it out of this adventure alive.

Whether or not that will be the case remains to be seen of course, but Legends of Tomorrow is getting better and better as time passes, and this episode looks particularly exciting.
