Above is a brand new clip from the premiere which focuses on the notorious kingpin’s escape from the prison he built for himself as the authorities move aside (out of fear) to let him pass. It’s not much, but it’s a nice tease of what’s to come.

Regardless of how much you know about how things played out in real life, it’s clear that the war between the DEA and cartel is going to intensify in a huge way as the two sides battle for supremacy. We know how Escobar’s story ends, but following that journey in Narcos should still be a lot of fun. After all, there have been a fair few movies and TV shows made that revolve around the kingpin, but Narcos is easily one of the best (which is evident from the reviews for season two).
