After hosting upwards of 13 million players across all platforms for the recent Battlefield 1 public beta, developer DICE is now in the process of carrying out tweaks based on player feedback.

Word comes by way of the studio’s latest, exhaustive blog post, which had Lead World Designer Daniel Berlin outline the changes being made to Battlefield 1 vehicles – horses included – and select weapons in need of a buff/nerf, along with a minor shake-up to the Conquest game mode.

Whereas before two teams competed to exhaust the opposition’s supply of tickets by seizing control of as many capture points as possible, gaining points for kills and captures as they do so, scoring in Battlefield 1‘s Conquest mode initially awarded points for only capturing zones. But the times, they are a-changing.

“The next time you play the game, capturing the objectives AND getting kills will both contribute towards the final score of a Conquest match,” Berlin said. “You have spoken, we have listened!”

Conquest isn’t the only mode wherein DICE will be ringing the changes, as Rush is prepared to undergo a slight makeover in time for the shooter’s October release date.

“We have also been monitoring and listening to your comments in regards to the Rush game mode,” Berlin continued. “It’s super exciting for us to bring back Rush for Battlefield 1, and we are aiming to make it the best Rush experience to date. We are making tweaks to the game mode as we speak with your feedback as the backbone to the entire process.”

Battlefield 1 will touch down for PS4, Xbox One and PC on October 21. DICE, meanwhile, are already thinking further afield, as the first post-launch map (Giant’s Shadow) will be released free of charge come December. Last and certainly not least, ahead of its hotly-anticipated launch in a month’s time, We Got This Covered is hosting a Battlefield 1 contest. Details of how to enter can be found here, and the closing date is October 12.
