Earlier this week, we brought you the first set photos from Marvel and Netflix’s The Punisher, the spinoff that’s currently shooting in New York City. They didn’t show off much aside from star Jon Bernthal with a rather long beard, but it was an enticing tease nonetheless.
Now, Just Jared (who gave us the first batch of set pics) are back with more and this time, the photos are a lot more exciting. As you can see in the gallery below, we get more shots of a bearded Bernthal, but we also see Daredevil star Deborah Ann Woll on set with him shooting some scenes.
Given the strong bond between Woll’s Karen Page and Bernthal’s Punisher in Daredevil season 2, it’s not terribly surprising to see her showing up here, but it’s still nice to get confirmation that she’ll definitely have a role in the spinoff. Whether her appearance here means that Matt Murdock will be included as well is up for debate, but it’s certainly a possibility.
With The Punisher still so far away (it likely won’t premiere until later in 2017), not too much information has been revealed about it just yet. We have heard though that the character may pop up in The Defenders, and possibly in an MCU film as well, so Marvel clearly have big plans for him, they just haven’t told us exactly what they’ve got in mind.
Regardless, we, like everyone else, absolutely loved Bernthal’s take on the character back in Daredevil season 2 and can’t wait to see him reprise the role again in The Punisher.
