Netflix subscribers are currently bracing themselves for the advent of Black Mirror season 3 and with it, six all-new realities to get lost in. It’ll premiere this Friday, October 21, but the online streamer is already mapping out plans for the show’s fourth season, casting Jodie Foster to direct and Rosemarie DeWitt to star in an episode of Charlie Brooker’s prescient anthology series.

Currently on course to premiere sometime in 2017, little is known about the content of Foster’s installment, nor the extent of DeWitt’s role in it. Black Mirror is notoriously secretive when it comes to specifics, though given we’re only days away from the arrival of the six-episode third season, that’s something we’re perfectly happy with. Why spoil the “fun,” right?

Split into two seasons of six, Netflix first scooped up rights to Black Mirror back in July and since then, fans have been pouring over each and every frame of those chilling teasers. Tapping into the zeitgeist is the show’s bread and butter, and we can’t wait to see what Brooker and executive producer Annabel Jones have in store.

As for those new recruits, this is the latest directing gig for Jodie Foster, who helmed last year’s character drama Money Monster. She’s also cut her teeth on episodes of Orange is the New Black and House of Cards, and should therefore feel right at home on Netflix. DeWitt, meanwhile, will next be seen opposite Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone for musical drama, La La Land.

Black Mirror season 3 will boot online via Netflix on October 21. Stay tuned to We Got This Covered as our review will be going live in the coming days.
