Confirming earlier rumors to be true, Marvel has today announced that The Punisher series will indeed premiere in 2017. Not only that, but the hotly-anticipated Netflix spinoff has now filled out its cast with five new additions.

Though there’s no mention of a specific date, this news is exciting in and of itself because it means next year will herald the arrival of three individual series: Iron Fist, The Defenders and of course, The Punisher. Well, Netflix did vow to ramp up production moving forward, didn’t they?

As for those new additions to The Punisher cast, they are, in no official order, Daniel Webber, Jason R. Moore, Paul Schulze, Jaime Ray Newman, and Michael Nathanson, and you’ll be able to find additional character details down below. Thanks to the onslaught of set photos, we know they’ll be rubbing shoulders with Amber Rose Revah, while Ben Barnes, Ebon Moss-Bachrach and Daredevil‘s Deborah Ann Woll have all been confirmed alongside Jon Bernthal.

Here’s an overview of those newcomers, courtesy of Marvel:

Daniel Webber (11.22.63) has been cast as Lewis Walcott, a young veteran who has had a difficult time re-assimilating into Civilian Society.

Jason R. Moore (A Lonely Place for Dying) joins as Curtis Hoyle, a friend of Frank Castle’s and one of the few people who knows he is alive.

Paul Schulze (Nurse Jackie) will play Rawlins, a high-ranking member of the CIA whose operations in Afghanistan intersect with Frank Castle.

Jaime Ray Newman (“Bates Motel”) plays Sarah Lieberman, Micro’s wife (played by Ebon Moss-Bachrach) whose marriage has made her life far more complicated.

Michael Nathanson (“The Knick,” “Wolf of Wall Street”) has been cast as Sam Stein, a Homeland agent who is challenged by his partnership with Dinah (Amber Rose Revah).

So, there you have it; not only will 2017 bring forth Iron Fist and The Defenders, but Netflix subscribers can also look forward to the premiere of The Punisher. We’ll be keeping track of the Bernthal-fronted spinoff as it develops.
