Two new teaser trailers have been released by Capcom for Resident Evil 7, this time highlighting the presence of grotesque monsters and creepy pensioners within the walls of the game’s decrepit mansion. The videos, numbered 9 and 10, are the last to be released in the miniseries, with each aiming to provide fans with a glimpse at the survival horror title’s different facets of gameplay.

So far, we’ve seen mysterious phone calls, herb collection, gunplay and seemingly immortal enemies take centre stage, but these final two take the cake on the creepy scale.

The first of these – ‘Shadow’ – marks the first time we’ve seen the player character encounter a distinctly non-human entity, and it looks positively terrifying. Despite peppering the creature with several bullets, it doesn’t go down. Will we need to utilize some sort of special tool to take these things down?

The tenth and final trailer is more of a slow-burning tension builder featuring a mysterious old woman. “Aunt Rhody” showcases some fantastic atmospheric and lighting effects for Resident Evil 7‘s grim setting, and the soft humming of an eerie tune by the old lady does little to calm the nerves.

The final trailer concludes with a message that mentions the arrival of a “Tape 3” in early December, no doubt a teaser for a further update to the game’s ‘Beginning Hour‘ demo.

Resident Evil 7 launches for Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC on January 24, 2017.
