Today saw the release of U.S.Avengers #1, a comic book which revealed the identity of the brand new Red Hulk. However, retailers got a surprise when another variant cover was shipped out to them unexpectedly. Unfortunately, it won’t be easy to find, as they only received one for every 50+ state exclusive covers they ordered.

Illustrated by Phil Noto, the cover doesn’t feature characters from the series itself but instead focuses on the three most iconic members of Earth’s Mightiest Heroes. We’re obviously referring to Captain America, Iron Man and Thor, and this “trinity” is arguably a big part of what makes the team so memorable. It’s just a shame that, as of right now, Captain America is evil, Iron Man is on life support and the God of Thunder has been deemed Unworthy. At this rate, who knows when we’ll see them back together, but chances are that could happen in time for the release of Avengers: Infinity War next May.

U.S.Avengers #1 has been well-received despite not featuring a cast of big name characters, and it looks like the title will shake up the Marvel Universe in a fairly significant way. How much longer it will last before being cancelled or relaunched is anyone’s guess, but here’s hoping the comic is here for the long haul.
