Though not officially released, three new behind the scenes snaps from Warner Bros.’ upcoming Wonder Woman movie have found their way online today courtesy of French movie magazine, Studio Ciné Live. The photos were taken last year as director Patty Jenkins and her crew filmed on the beaches of Palinuro, Italy, which was doubling for the mythical island of Themyscira.

The best quality pic of the bunch features Gal Gadot as Diana, while there are a couple of lower-res shots of Gladiator actress Connie Nielsen as Queen Hippolyta, as well as some background Amazon/soldier characters.

In addition to that, the magazine featured an interview with Star Trek Beyond actor Chris Pine, who will play Diana’s love interest Steve Trevor. Pine doesn’t give too much away, obviously, but he does reveal how and why Trevor winds up on Themyscira, and hints at a certain villainous plot device.

I play a pilot working for the Allied spies and the Germans without their knowledge ,. My character steals a notebook filled with scientific formulas in an Ottoman base. He steals a plane but is shot down in the sea.

Speaking of villains, Studio Ciné Live also seems to confirm that Ares will indeed be the main antagonist of the film, as they claim that the character will attempt to steal the aforementioned formulas to create a gas that will wipe out all of humanity. Though he’d been rumored to be the baddie on several different occasions, this is the first time the God of War has been mentioned in any kind of official capacity. However, there’s still no word on who will play him.

Wonder Woman is set to hit theatres on June 2nd, 2017, and also stars Robin Wright, David Thewlis, Danny Huston and Lucy Davis.
