Is Mantis Going To Be In Avengers: Infinity War?

Avengers: Infinity War is set to be absolutely massive, and we don't just mean in terms of scale and scope. While it'll definitely be large in both those regards, it's also set to feature a shockingly big cast. Aside from the usual suspects, like Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, Hawkeye, Black Widow, etc., the film will also make room for the Guardians of the Galaxy, Spider-Man, Doctor Strange, potentially Pip the Troll and many, many more.

Now, we’re hearing that one more character may be added to the roster. It hasn’t been confirmed just yet, but Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 actress Pom Klementieff, who’s playing Mantis in James Gunn’s upcoming space-set sequel, has pretty much let the cat out of the bag with a recent photo she posted on Instagram.

You can check it out below, but it’s the cover of The Avengers #123, which is revealing enough, but it’s also geo-tagged Atlanta, Georgia – which just so happens to be the city that Infinity War is shooting in. It doesn’t take a genius to figure out what she’s hinting at, right?

While Mantis’ involvement isn’t terribly surprising – after all, it seems like every MCU character still breathing will be showing up here – it does beg the question of whether or not it’s all getting to be a bit too much. I mean, sure, fans will no doubt love seeing all these heroes come together to fight big bad Thanos, but is there going to be enough breathing room for everyone in Avengers: Infinity War? As it was, Civil War was already pretty crowded, and while Joe and Anthony Russo did balance everything successfully there, it may not be quite as easy this time around.

With the film set to head in front of cameras this week, we’ll no doubt be learning a lot more about it over the coming months and hopefully, we’ll start to get an idea of just how everyone’s going to factor into the plot. Until then, though, we’ll patiently wait for Marvel to confirm the cast list and hope that Avengers: Infinity War doesn’t buckle under the pressure being placed on it to deliver.

Tell us, do you think the Russos will be able to pull off what’s arguably the studio’s most ambitious project, ever? Sound off in the usual place and give us your thoughts!
