The Guardians Of The Galaxy Will Be Handled Properly In Avengers: Infinity War

Before Captain America: Civil War hit theaters, fans were worried, and understandably so, that too many characters were being shoved into one film and that it might fail to balance everyone in a satisfying manner. Of course, that wasn't the case and the threequel turned out to be one of Marvel's best efforts to date. Sure, some heroes obviously didn't get as much of the spotlight as others, but Joe and Anthony Russo did the best that anyone could have done trying to juggle everything and make sure no one got shoved to the sidelines.

Now, they’ll have an even tougher task ahead of them as they attempt to put together Avengers: Infinity War, which will be taking almost all of Civil War‘s characters and also adding in Doctor Strange, the Guardians of the Galaxy and presumably a few more familiar faces. It’s going to be an absolutely massive film and once again, fans have begun to wonder whether or not the directors have bitten off more than they can chew.

Given that we’re still so far away from it, we really can’t say one way or another if that’s the case here, but if Zoe Saldana is to be believed, then we can rest easy knowing that at least the Guardians will get the proper treatment in Infinity War.

Speaking to IGN recently, the actress said the following:

“I’m curious to see how they are going to portray us,” Saldana said. “But the good thing that keeps me relaxed is that these directors [Anthony and Joe Russo] are good. They have a really good pedigree. Their last movie [Captain America: Civil War] was… I liked it. I liked their choices. And everyone that worked with them really had a great experience. And James Gunn is a producer on it, so I know he won’t ever let the integrity of what he’s created for the Guardians ever become compromised. So I’m at ease. Plus, I love Marvel producers; they’re all great; they all want us to win.”

Gunn being a producer on Infinity War definitely bodes well for Star-Lord, Gamora and the rest of the Guardians, but what about the others? While we have no reason to doubt the Russos just yet, you do have to wonder just how they’re going to balance so many larger than life characters and make sure everyone gets used properly and isn’t wasted or just thrown into the film for the sake of having them show face.

So often we see big blockbusters needlessly stuffing in as many characters as they can to appease fans, only to be left with a movie where half of the cast is wasted. It happens time and time again and we really hope that’s not the case with Avengers: Infinity War.

Tell us, do you think the Russos are up to the task of putting together such a monstrous film, or is Marvel’s upcoming blockbuster going to crumble under its own ambition? Sound off down below and let us know what you think!
