The Chinese New Year is set to begin tomorrow, January 28th, with the Year of the Rooster set to last all the way through until February 15th, 2018. For Wonder Woman, the above promo stands as a heartfelt message to Warner Bros.’ international audience, with Gal Gadot adopting the native tongue to wish one and all good luck and great success in the coming year. If anything, it’s another showcase of Gadot’s infectious charm, who displays ten times the energy, warmth, and compassion of Chris Pine in under 20 seconds. That’s by no means a knock on Pine, who is attached to play Steve Trevor in Patty Jenkins’ standalone pic, simply a nod to Gal Gadot’s talent.

Also on board for Wonder Woman are House of Cards actress Robin Wright, Danny Huston, David Thewlis, Ewen Bremner, Saïd Taghmaoui, and Lucy Davis. It’s the fourth mainline entry into the DCEU after Man of Steel, Batman V Superman and Suicide Squad, and though many fans are looking to Diana Prince’s solo outing to overturn DC’s on-screen fortunes, sources claim Jenkins’ movie is a “discombobulated” mess.

On June 2nd, Wonder Woman will herald the first of Gal Gadot’s two screen appearances as the Amazonian in 2017, given the actress is all set to suit up once more when Zack Snyder’s Justice League movie slams into theaters on November 17th. The latter is inching ever closer to the finish line, and may just hold the power to course-correct the DC Extended Universe as a whole.
