Synopses For Upcoming Supergirl And Arrow Episodes Released

Now that DC TV is back in full swing, we continue looking ahead at what each series has to offer for the remainder of the season. Whether it’s the introduction of a possibly new Black Canary on Arrow or knowing Kevin Smith will return this spring to direct another episode of Supergirl, there’s much to be excited about.

When it comes to the week Valentine’s Day occupies, it looks like there won’t be as much new material to look forward to. As it turns out, both The Flash and DC’s Legends of Tomorrow will be taking the week off, which is actually a smart move by the network when you consider that said shows would have been slated to air on Valentine’s Day itself and many potential viewers may have romantic plans of their own.

On a positive note, you have a new episode of Supergirl to look forward to on February 13, which is titled “Luthors.” Personally, I can’t wait to see what we will learn about this particular universe’s version of one of DC’s most notorious families. Here’s what we know for now:

LENA IS ARRESTED – After Metallo (guest star Frederick Schmidt) breaks out of prison and frees Lillian Luthor (guest star Brenda Strong), the police blame Lena (guest star Katie McGrath) for his escape and arrest her. Despite overwhelming evidence, Kara (Melissa Benoist) refuses to believe her friend is guilty and fights to clear Lena’s name. Flashbacks reveal how Lena came to be a Luthor.  Meanwhile, Alex (Chyler Leigh) and Maggie (Floriana Lima) celebrate their first Valentine’s Day together. Tawnia McKiernan directed the episode written by Robert Rovner and Cindy Lichtman. (212). Original airdate 2/13/17.

As for Arrow, its February 15 episode, “Spectre of the Gun,” aims to delve into Wild Dog’s past, something many have been speculating about. Here’s the early word on that:

WILD DOG’S HISTORY IS REVEALED — A traumatic attack on City Hall triggers painful memories for Rene (Rick Gonzalez) about his family. Flashbacks reveal how Rene went from simple family man to a hero named Wild Dog. Meanwhile, Oliver (Stephen Amell) must deal with the perpetrator behind the attack and realizes the best way to do so is as Mayor Queen instead of the Green Arrow. Tensions run high in the Arrow bunker. Kristin Windell directed the episode written by Marc Guggenheim (513).  Original airdate 2/15/2017.

Supergirl airs on Monday nights on The CW, with Arrow following on Wednesdays.
