Kong: Skull Island Clip Brings Jordan Vogt-Roberts’ Reboot Closer In Line With Godzilla

Godzilla? Massive Unidentified Terrestrial Objects? Both sky-scraping creatures are teased in the tense new clip for Kong: Skull Island.

“You are going to tell me everything I don’t know, or I’m gunna’ blow your head off.” That’s Samuel L. Jackson’s Lieutenant Colonel Packard, who can be seen holding Bill Randa (John Goodman) at gunpoint, demanding answers, in the tense new clip for Kong: Skull Island.

It’s a nail-biting standoff that has reared its head throughout the film’s appropriately monstrous marketing campaign, though up above we get the chance to see Goodman’s Bill Randa in a whole new light. As early rumors had suggested, Randa is an employee of Monarch, the mysterious organization first introduced in Gareth Edwards’ Godzilla three years ago. That means Goodman’s character is well versed in both Skull Island’s extraordinary food chain and MUTOs (Massive Unidentified Terrestrial Objects), effectively strengthening the film’s ties to Legendary’s overarching MonsterVerse. What’s more, based on Jackson’s no-nonsense tone, it seems today’s all-new clip is situated soon after the crew’s first close encounter – be it with Kong himself or one of the many Skull Crawlers lurking beneath the surface.

On the human side of things, Kong: Skull Island features an all-star cast comprised of Tom Hiddleston, Brie Larson (Captain Marvel), John C. Reilly, Tian Jing, Corey Hawkins, Jason Mitchell, John Ortiz, Thomas Mann, Shea Whigham, Toby Kebbell, and Eugene Cordero.

On March 10th, Kong: Skull Island will invite moviegoers to the place where myth and science meet. And yes, you’ll want to hang around after the credits roll, for earlier today we caught wind that Jordan Vogt-Roberts’ creature film will come packing a post-credits stinger. Little is known about what it’ll entail, but fans can surely look forward to some form of suitably jaw-dropping primer for Godzilla: King of the Monsters, which is to be directed Michael Dougherty. March 22nd, 2019 is the date for your diaries.
