DC’s Legends Of Tomorrow Go Medieval In New Clip

Although I've been historically critical of DC's Legends of Tomorrow's Bill and Ted inspired method of teaming up with historical figures, I can't deny that the series has been on an upswing in terms of quality in recent weeks. And, from what we can tell, "Camelot/3000" looks to find a nice blend of the established formula and mining DC Comics' rich mythology.

If anything, fans will want to tune in not only to see the return of the Justice Society of America, who have been scattered throughout time and tasked with protecting fragments of the Spear of Destiny from the Legion of Doom, but also to see the Waverider crew travel to at least two drastically different time periods.

One such era that is made quite obvious from the clip we’ve presented today is that of the Renaissance. It’s here that we’ll no doubt be given a variety of nods to Mike W. Barr and Brian Bolland’s classic, Camelot 3000. Sure, it may be a bit obscure for some, but the Arrowverse has become known for adapting many tales the movies simply don’t have time to get around to.

Personally, I’m more excited to see the Legends travel to the year 3000 because, let’s face it, I can’t be the only one holding out hope for some Legion of Superheroes references. If my gut is right, it’s very possible some seeds for season 3 will be planted here.

For more details, be sure to check out the official synopsis below:

ALL FOR ONE — The Legends continue their quest to hunt down the Spear of Destiny before the pieces fall into the hands of the Legion of Doom. The Legends discover that pieces of the Spear are each being guarded in different time periods by members of the JSA. Their first stop is the future where they find Dr. Mid-Nite (guest star Kwesi Ameyaw) which eventually leads them to the past and King Arthur’s Camelot, where Stargirl (guest star Sarah Grey) is protecting her piece of the Spear.

In order to protect the Spear shard from the now-evil Rip Hunter (Arthur Darvill), the Legends must join forces with the Knights of the Round Table. Caity Lotz, Franz Drameh, Victor Garber, Brandon Routh, Nick Zano, Dominic Purcell, and Maisie Richardson-Sellers also star. Antonio Negret directed the episode written by Anderson MacKenzie.

DC’s Legends of Tomorrow airs on Thursday nights on The CW.
