Megan Fox, Haley Bennett, Lena Headey, Jessica Chastain – the list of actresses linked with DC spinoff Gotham City Sirens continues to grow and grow, and if a pair of Tweets is anything to go by, Jurassic World and Black Mirror star Bryce Dallas Howard has now purportedly entered the running for the coveted role of Poison Ivy.

Given how secretive Warner Bros. has been with regards to David Ayer’s female-fronted spinoff, it’s impossible to know whether Howard is officially in the race at this early stage in development – one rumor claimed Gotham City Sirens is being angled for a release in early 2019 – but at the very least, the fact that Dallas Howard openly addressed rumors via Twitter indicates that she has some interest in the gig.

Best known for her work across The Help and indie dramas in the vein of 50/50, Bryce Dallas Howard made the transition to blockbuster territory two years ago with the release of Colin Trevorrow’s Jurassic World. She’s currently filming its monstrous follow-up – June 22nd, 2018 is the date for your diaries – but will we ever see the actress take a deep dive into Hollywood’s crowded superhero genre? It’s not out of the question.

Per Twitter:

Gotham City Sirens is just one of many DC-related projects simmering in various stages of development. Just recently, we learned that Joss Whedon will write, direct and produce a Batgirl solo film, while there’s also mention of a Nightwing spinoff taking flight in the not-so-distant future. Assuming WB utilizes the Caped Crusader as a means of connecting each standalone pic, we could see as many as six Batman films released in 2019. That’s yet to be confirmed, of course, but it does present some interesting food for thought. For instance, is Warner too reliant on Bats? Or are these spinoff projects a sure-fire sign that the company will continue to diversify its superhero slate moving forward?

Next up for the DCEU is the release of Wonder Woman on June 2nd, before Justice League closes the book on 2017’s offerings in November. Still no word on a release timeline for Gotham City Sirens, nor if Bryce Dallas Howard is officially in the running, but we’ll keep you posted as more information comes to light.
