Production on Marvel and Netflix's spinoff of The Punisher (AKA Frank Castle) has officially wrapped ahead of its arrival later this year.

It won’t be too long now before Jon Bernthal’s Frank Castle returns to the streets of Hell’s Kitchen, as filming has now wrapped on the inaugural season of The Punisher.

Word comes by way of Twitter (via Screen Rant), revealing that the show’s wrap party took place over the course of the weekend, when Bernthal was joined by various members of the cast and crew. Following in the footsteps of Iron Fist and, soon, The Defenders, The Punisher spinoff is poised to become the third and final Marvel/Netflix series to premiere in 2017, and though neither party has lifted the lid on a release date just yet, a listing on IMDb suggests the Bernthal-fronted offshoot is being set for a November premiere. Assuming that holds true, it would carve out enough breathing space between The Punisher and The Defenders, after the latter recently nailed down an August release window.

One way or another, here’s confirmation of The Punisher wrapping up principal photography, courtesy of Twitter:

Story-wise, there are precious few details out in the wild regarding Frank Castle’s standalone series. Picking up after the events of Daredevil season 2, we imagine The Punisher will continue to chronicle Frank’s vigilantism in and around Hell’s Kitchen, and previous reports have already confirmed that Deborah Ann Woll (Karen Page) will swing by for an episode or two. One character that’s been ruled out altogether, though, is Vincent D’Onofrio’s Wilson Fisk, after the actor himself confirmed that he won’t be sharing the screen with Jon Bernthal anytime soon. That’s a little disappointing given their surprising chemistry in Daredevil, but there’s a small chance D’Onofrio’s comments will turn out to be a red herring.

The Punisher may have wrapped filming, but Marvel and Netflix’s latest collaboration is still on the hunt for a release window. We imagine that date will be unveiled alongside the show’s inaugural trailer, so stay tuned for more.
