Star Wars Rebels Actress Ashley Eckstein Teases Ahsoka’s Return In Season 4

Ahsoka Tano has been a fan favorite character ever since she first debuted in The Clone Wars as Anakin Skywalker's apprentice, and her popularity saw a massive resurgence when she was reintroduced as "Fulcrum" in Disney XD's Star Wars Rebels. Though Ahsoka seemingly met her end after a duel with Darth Vader in the season 2 finale, "Dawn of The Apprentice," the episode concluded with enough hints that we would see the powerful force-wielder again... in some capacity, at least.

Tano’s return was all but confirmed during Star Wars Celebration when series creator Dave Filoni wore an “Ahsoka Lives!” T-shirt for the Rebels panel, but we still don’t know exactly how she’ll be reintegrated into the season 4 plot. During a recent interview with Yahoo!, however, the actress who provides Ahsoka’s voice on the show, Ashley Eckstein, left little doubt that she’ll be back, while also giving us with a possible hint at what to expect from this new incarnation of the character:

I want to know more about Ahsoka’s future as this kind of neutral character. Her lightsabers are white because she’s neutral. She’s not on the Dark Side, she’s not a Jedi. She’s not even a full-blown Rebel. What is she doing? Where is she? All I can say is, you’ll see Ahsoka again.

There’s some speculation that Ahsoka might turn out to be the giant wolf glimpsed in the season 4 trailer, but Filoni seemed to laugh this off when quizzed about it during the panel. Still, there is some evidence to back this up, as shape-shifting Jedi have appeared in Star Wars mythology before.

Tell us, how do you think Ahsoka will be reintroduced in the fourth and final season of Star Wars Rebels? Is there a chance that she’ll wind up fighting against her former friends, perhaps? Sound off in the comments section below.
