Tonight’s episode of Gotham, “These Delicate and Dark Obsessions,” will reportedly come packing a neat little surprise for DC fans in the form of a new promo for Patty Jenkins’ imminent Wonder Woman movie.
At least, that’s according to a tip from Batman-News (via Screen Rant), claiming that Fox has earmarked the 16th episode of Gotham season 3 to roll out another sneak peek at Diana Prince’s long-brewing origin story. Upon doing a little digging of our own, we’ve since uncovered a Tweet from Gotham‘s official Twitter page that essentially verifies the scoop. So, keep your peepers peeled.
Whereas the Marvel Cinematic Universe takes place on the same timeline as the TV universe – you’ll often find that echoes of Earth’s Mightiest Heroes are woven into Daredevil, Jessica Jones, and other standalone series – DC’s film and television output operate on two separate tracks, but with little over a month to go until Wonder Woman‘s theatrical release, the Powers That Be over at Warner Bros. aren’t about to let a good promotional opportunity go begging.

Since Gal Gadot’s Immortal Warrior took over the cover of Entertainment Weekly, Warner has pumped out a series of new promos for its Wonder Woman solo effort, one of which delivers our first peek at Ares in full-on villain mode. Reports continue to swirl that the studio is bracing to take a hit on Patty Jenkins’ spinoff, but if the director gets the chance to have another crack at the DC icon, she already has a few ideas in mind for a potential sequel.
Wonder Woman opens on June 2nd. The big question now is, can the solo movie – one 75 years in the making – live up to its expectations? We’ll soon find out.
