There are other worlds than these, apparently, and after years spent languishing in development hell, The Dark Tower is now ready to showcase its inaugural trailer.

Following up on yesterday’s report, Sony’s Philippine Facebook account has today rolled out three arresting motion posters featuring Roland Deschain (Idris Elba), The Man in Black (Matthew McConaughey) and Tom Taylor’s Jake Chambers, who accompanies The Gunslinger on his quest through Mid-World and beyond. All three mythic promos are embedded below, and though there’s currently no word on timing – 9am or 10am EST is often a safe bet, assuming Sony doesn’t choose to premiere said trailer via a late night show – fans can rest assured that The Dark Tower‘s first-look teaser will be with us on Wednesday, May 3rd.

Twice delayed, Nikolaj Arcel’s adaptation of The Dark Tower has endured a long and difficult spell in development. But it seems there’s light at the end of the tunnel after all, and given that Sony has drawn up early plans for a spinoff TV series based on Stephen King’s magnum opus, Dark Tower fans will soon find themselves revelling in an embarrassment of riches.

That journey begins with the über-stylish motion posters down below, and remember, stay tuned to We Got This Covered tomorrow when we’ll have full coverage of that trailer in question.

Pitched as a “dark tale of Christianity,” The Dark Tower will finally – finally! – be with us on August 4th. Those in the UK can expect Sony’s long-in-development adaptation to make the journey across the pond in time for August 18th, and with any luck, tomorrow’s trailer will be attached to the premiere of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 this coming weekend.
