New Gotham Extended Promo Showcases A War Being Fought From Multiple Sides

Even as a loyal viewer of Gotham, I must concede to the argument saying that the series is overloaded with villains, no matter how well executed some of them may have been. Having said that, it looks like the remaining five episodes of the current season will make use of many of them, but will hopefully attempt to find a delicate balance.

Even as a loyal viewer of Gotham, I must concede to the argument saying that the series is overloaded with villains, no matter how well executed some of them may have been. Having said that, it looks like the remaining five episodes of the current season will make use of many of them, but will hopefully attempt to find a delicate balance.

As is to be expected from an underworld becoming overrun with flamboyant supervillains, loyalties have been rather fleeting and allegiances seemingly shift on a quarterly basis. But, given the impression we’ve gotten since the spring premiere aired, everything is coming to a head in the form of a war being fought on multiple fronts.

In fact, the extended trailer for next week’s episode, “Heroes Rise: The Primal Riddle,” illustrates just that, with the newly forged Penguin-Poison Ivy alliance adding Mr. Freeze and Firefly to their club, not to mention the deadly trifecta of the Riddler, Barbara Kean and Tabitha Galavan coming at them from another direction. Suffice it to say, the Court of Owls won’t have a cakewalk ahead of them in the coming weeks by any means.

For more information, be sure to check out the official synopsis below:

Some of Gotham’s most unhinged villains band together, while The Riddler continues his conquest of the city. Gordon is on a search for answers and all roads keep leading him back to the Court of Owls. Meanwhile, as Alfred begins to notice a change in Bruce, Bruce 2 confides in Selina (Camren Bicondova).

Gotham airs on Monday nights on Fox.
