Several Villains Make Their Return In Promo For Next Week’s Episode Of Gotham

Despite experiencing a bit of a ratings slump in recent weeks, Gotham has absolutely been on fire since returning for the second half of its third season. Whether it be Edward Nygma fully embracing his destiny as the Riddler or Jim Gordon infiltrating the Court of Owls (oh yeah, it definitely happened last night), this series consistently finds news ways of guaranteeing I'm on the edge of my seat each and every week.

From what I’ve been able to glean from the trailer for the next episode, “Heroes Rise: Light The Wick,” the producers have no intention of letting any of us catch our breath. If indeed all this footage is culled from that particular episode and not from other upcoming installments, then we can expect to see Nathaniel Barnes return as a costumed Executioner in addition to Hugo Strange, the latter of whom hasn’t been seen since the second outing of this season.

Personally, I’m looking forward to seeing more of the alliance forged between Penguin, Poison Ivy, Mr. Freeze and Firefly because not only are villain team-ups just plain cool, but also due to the fact that the respective actors are playing well off each other. Furthermore, it’ll be interesting to see if any of Selina Kyle’s old friends catch up with her now that she’s been given the Batman Returns origin treatment.
