Now that The Flash is closing in on the finish line that is the season 3 finale, the producers are pulling out all the stops to make sure that the current run goes out with a bang. As promised in a previously released featurette, Savitar shared his motivation with his present self, finally giving us some real insight into the breadth of his diabolical plan. But as exciting as that was, we can't help but be left reeling by the fact that Captain Cold is returning next week.

You see, Leonard Snart is technically dead. Yes, he did appear in the final episodes of season 2 of DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, but let’s not forget that he was plucked from earlier in the timeline by the Legion of Doom, with the Waverider crew returning him to that point and wiping his short-term memory in the finale.

That said, we can only wonder how Barry Allen will ask his frenemy for help in the battle against Savitar in the second to last episode of this season, unless he continues to honor one of his favorite pastimes – messing with the timeline. No matter what happens, we can probably all agree that it’s good to see Snart back in the mix.
